N-(Azide-PEG8-carbonyl)-N-bis(PEG8-NHS ester)

N-(Azide-PEG8-carbonyl)-N-bis(PEG8-NHS ester)

N-(Azide-PEG8-carbonyl)-N-bis(PEG8-NHS ester) is a trifunctional reagent that combines an azide and two NHS esters with a tertiary amide junction. The activated NHS ester is reactive towards nucleophiles like amines and alcohols to form amides and esters while the azide is useful for click reactions with terminal alkynes and strained cyclooctynes like DBCO and BCN. The tertiary amide that links the two increases the molecule's water solubility through hydrogen bonding effects.
